Summary
Dr Nick Linton is a consultant cardiologist based at the London Heart Practice, one of the UK’s leading centres for cardiac treatments and procedures. Dr Linton has a specialist interest in heart rhythm problems. He treats a range of conditions, including palpitation, chest pain, and shortness of breath. Dr Linton is known for his expertise in cardiac ablation procedures and pacemakers.
Before pursuing a career in medicine Dr Linton obtained a Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University, graduating with 1st class honours. After a period developing new cardiac output monitoring technology, he then studied medicine at King’s College, London and qualified with distinction in 2002.
He became a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) and trained in cardiology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (St Mary’s and Hammersmith hospitals), St Thomas’ Hospital and also completed a clinical fellowship in Bordeaux, a world-renowned centre for cardiac electrophysiology.
As a cardiologist with a background in engineering, Dr Linton has developed a unique perspective in medical research and a particular interest in ablation treatments using 3D mapping technologies. Alongside his colleagues at Imperial College, he has developed a leading cardiac mapping technique.
